Click on the images below to see conceptual design studies of a four mile long tunnel, connecting Dulles Access Road (267) to I-66, effectively completing a 10 mile long Beltway around Tysons Corner.
I am not an engineer but I have reviewed parts of FHWA guidelines regarding tunnels. I believe engineering connections between points 1, 2 and 3 (shown below) are possible and paramount. I would appreciate receiving your personal and professional comments at: info@aimarchitecture.com Thank You.

Q: Can Tysons Corner have a Beltway of its own?
Above: Photos of Roadway in Japan.
A: One 4 mile long under ground Tunnel makes it possible!
By engineering connections between points 1, 2 and 3 above; a 10 mile beltway is possible using the 4 mile Tunnel as shown.
The idea is much more complicated than this, but it deserves a full study.
It also deserves your opinion to overcome a concern more major than just traffic! Please take the Web Poll.
A Solid; Quiet; Zero Vibration; 25 miles/hour; Passenger-Cars (only) Tunnel, is paying you $10,000/YR in monthly toll charges, for cars traveled, five (5) stories below your basement.
